The government should push Demo hacking ATM

Hacking ATM
Jakarta - Alfons tanujaya, analysts, anti-virus and computer security from Vaksincom, welcomed the demonstration of ATM security weaknesses, which aired on television as the digital forensic experts Alamsyah Ruby. In fact, he hoped the government or the Bank of Indonesia contributed to this.
"I do not agree when shown alone, but the government through the Bank Indonesia must encourage (push / support-ed) this," he said while talking to Alfon ITGazine, Monday (25/1/2010).
According to Alfons, for any security incidents in the banking system should be communicated to the public. This is so customers are not swayed by a false sense of security.

"So far the banks trying to cover up the incident and give the wrong impression that his ATM card safely. In fact the technology used by the ATM machine right now is the technology of magnetic cards. That house technology era iron horse bite," Alfons continue.

Alfons also suggested the banks to switch to chip-based ATM card. He likens, magnetic ATM cards now used is 'naked card', so that the data in it can be seen with the naked eye by the perpetrator.

Meanwhile, chip card, go Alfons, proverbial and was wearing pants. The data in the chip card, go Alfons, has made it difficult encryption offenders.

"But the financial hardware users always have to realize that security is a process. So do not already use one wants the technology continue to profit, do not want to Keep it uses that technology is outdated and must be replaced," he added.

In fact, Alfons forecasting, disaster can happen if the banks in Indonesia are still insists with magnetic cards. "Only a matter of time, the longer the break-ins will be increased and eventually even more people do not believe the same ATM card," he said.

At foreign, their bank already use the chips card not use the magnetic cards anymore. Unfortunately, why our bank must to delay or 'waiting' their customers get robbed by the hacker first (must robbery mass, if the victim is only 5 or 10, banks to act as if their eyes are closed) so after that they just are willing to change their security systems.
